Duke Case: Why won't he drop it?

Greta Van Susteren and Tucker Carlson both talked about the Duke case Monday evening on their cable shows.

'old and cranky' on the FreeRepublic.com message board summarized Greta's show this way:

Greta had Jeanine Pirro on. They hit on all the troubling aspects of the case that the N&O article talked about.

Jeanine really hammered Nifong for doing all those interviews and calling the guys "hooligans" before he'd even investigated the case. She said with the accuser telling at least five different stories and absolutely no evidence to corroborate her account she can't understand why the case is going forward.

They talked about the lack of DNA after Nifong said the DNA would identify the guilty parties. They talked about Nifong's public statements about condoms when the accuser clearly said no condoms were used.

Greta pointed out that Nifong was commenting on the contents of the medical report before he even had a copy of it. She said the case needs to be dismissed. She kept asking "Why won't he drop it?"

At one point Jeanine said that Nifong may have something but Greta stopped her and asked what that something might be. Jeanine couldn't think of anything.

CourtTV.com had this comment regarding Greta:
she was hot about the 5 different stories the FA told, but what really got me was the Seligmann nonsense. on April 16th, she was only 70% sure he was even at the party.. then 2 weeks later, she was miraculously 100% sure he raped her. that is just an outrage.
Tucker Carlson's segment was entitled: "Should Duke rape case continue?" His guest was Ms. Georgia Goslee. CourtTV.com members made these comments about the show:

I feel that in regard to the interview of Ms. Goslee by Tucker this afternoon, she was unable to say much without being interrupted constantly by Tucker talking over her. He didn't even ler her answer a question completely. Not that he had any new questions. He just gave the usual speech that has been heard over and over again about the same evidence that has been given from the beginning.

It would have been nice to have something new on the case.

Georgia is stuck on stupid. No wonder she's an ex-federal prosecutor. I can't even stand the sound of her voice - keep the tv on mute when she is on.

T.O Jays posted:
She has No credibilty at all. They just need someone deperately to take the other side so to speak. She doesn't care that the accuser is a ...........well lets say less than credible. lol

Robert KC Johnson breaks down the the logic and lies of the evil weasel, Mike Nifong, in his most recent essay:
So what, exactly, is worthy of praise in Nifong’s statement that “I have not backed off from my initial assessment of the case”? A district attorney misleading the public, when he erroneously claimed that no evidence produced after March 27 altered his “initial assessment” of the case? A district attorney misleading the court, having sought DNA evidence under specific promises, only to abandon them once the evidence didn’t turn out as he wanted? Or a district attorney boasting of approaching the case with a closed mind rather than as a “minister of justice,” despite the ethics code’s clear suggestion that such behavior constitutes prosecutorial misconduct?
