The Crime Blotter:

The investigation of the murder of Danbury restaurateur/chef Zef Vulevic (aka Zef Vulaj and Joe Vuli) is growing cold. There has been no new news reports about the case since May 8th. Our speculation of this being a mob (Albanian Mafia?) hit looks more likely as time goes by.

Psyche's Knot has some interesting insights into the ongoing Scott/Laci Peterson case and BTK case.

The Vidocq Society takes up the murder of 21-year-old Patti Allen on Oct. 3, 1995 in West Yakima, Washington. That night somebody crept through the window into her apartment as she slept - then stabbed her once in the heart with a knife from her kitchen.

Named after legendary 18th century French detective Eugéne François Vidocq, the exclusive and somewhat secretive organization is reputed to have solved dozens of cold cases from around the country since its founding a decade ago.

Canada has serial killers too. Toronto-Star reports on the aftermath of the suspected serial killer Douglas Donald Moore case.

The Wichita BTK (Bind, Torture, & Kill) Strangler case: the alleged May 5th BTK letter is still churning the media with speculation as far away as Boston.

John Robb's Global Guerrillas blog has been analyzing the implications of a terrorist attack against the "King" of Saudi Arabian oil fields: GHAWAR. Would oil prices soar to $160 per barrel?
